A pet, no matter what its species, can make a great companion. I know because I have 3 dogs, 2 cats and one very vocal parrot called Rodney. However, over the years, and after countless trips to the vet, I have realized that it can be very easy to take your pets' health for granted.
When my German Shepherd, Spot, stopped eating, I wasn't prepared. As far as I was concerned he had been perfectly healthy up until that point. Turns out that he had pancreatitis, a condition that causes the pancreas to become inflamed. To my horror, the vet informed me that I had likely caused the condition by giving Spot fatty human foods, such as bacon.
Fortunately, Spot recovered. It was from that point on, however, that I decided to take my pet's health more seriously.
In this blog, I'll cover pet health conditions and their remedies.
